Pick one look. Everyone gets it.

On a large job, this is a decision you make once, before we arrive. We agree on the backdrop and the framing together, and then everyone we photograph matches, whether there are fifty of them or two thousand, and whether we shoot them in one morning or over three years.

It is the difference between a team page that looks designed and one that looks like it was gathered a bit at a time.

Black Backdrop Corporate Headshots

A black background creates a strong, professional, high-contrast look that works brilliantly for corporate headshots. It’s ideal for industries where confidence, clarity, and presence matter — from finance to tech leadership.
To add depth and polish, we often include a subtle gradient behind the subject. This helps every skin tone stand out beautifully while giving the final image a more dynamic, modern finish.

Grey Backdrop Business Portraits

A grey background is one of the most popular and versatile choices for business headshots. Whether light or dark, grey works beautifully with all skin tones and hair colours, making it a safe and stylish option for diverse teams.
If you’re after a clean, neutral, and professional look, grey is ideal. It photographs consistently well and suits everything from company websites to LinkedIn profiles.

White Backdrop Professional Headshots

A white background offers a clean, bright, and contemporary look that’s easy to integrate into both print and digital media. It’s especially popular with modern brands that want a light and approachable visual style.
White backdrop headshots also convert beautifully to black and white, providing you with extra flexibility across various platforms, including LinkedIn, company websites, press releases, and brochures.

Half-length Vertical Business Portrait

Corporate headshots don’t always have to be horizontal or square; if you’d like to include hands, a vertical format might be the right fit for you. Showing hands communicates trustworthiness; showing a person’s full posture suggests competence and authority. The only disadvantage is that the subject’s face is smaller, due to the wider framing.

Dark Backdrop Corporate Headshots

A dark background creates a classic, timeless look, which is ideal for conveying authority, tradition, and professionalism. It’s a popular choice for corporate headshots in the financial, legal, and consulting sectors.
These headshots can be delivered in both landscape and portrait formats, depending on where they’ll be used. They are perfect for websites, reports, internal directories, or LinkedIn profiles. A dark backdrop helps emphasise facial expression and attire, giving your portrait a confident, focused presence.

Outdoor Corporate Headshots

Outdoor headshots are a powerful way to show your professional environment while keeping the focus on you. With natural light and contextual backdrops, these portraits feel energetic, approachable, and full of life.
They’re a great fit for business leaders, public figures, and professionals whose surroundings are part of their story ranging from urban settings and office exteriors to parks, campuses, or creative workspaces.

Workplace Portraits

Workplace portraits offer a creative and storytelling driven take on business headshot photography. By capturing you in your actual work environment, these portraits help explain what you do, often more effectively than words alone.
This style is perfect for professionals who do not work at a desk, such as artists, chefs, makers, healthcare workers, and engineers. It is a bold and authentic way to give your audience real insight into your role and personality.

Not sure which?

Grey is the safest choice for a mixed company and the one most clients land on. It suits every skin tone and hair colour; it drops onto a website or a slide without fighting the design, and it dates slowly.

If your brand is dark, or you are photographing a leadership team specifically, the dark backdrop carries more weight. Tell us what the images are for, and we will recommend rather than make you guess.

Being photographed does not come naturally to everyone

We have photographed a few thousand people now, and most of them say something like this as they sit down: I hate having my picture taken.

Getting a good frame out of someone in that frame of mind, in under three minutes, without making it a performance, is most of the job. It is also why we send the same crew rather than whoever is available.
